About Peter

A research-led perspective.
An independent scientific voice.

Dr Peter Wade is an international research chemist and geochemist specialising in hydrogeochemical modelling, environmental systems and enhanced rock weathering.

Science across field,
laboratory and model.

Peter's professional experience spans academia, applied research institutions and industry. Over more than four decades, his work has combined laboratory experimentation, field trials and reactive-transport modelling to investigate mineral reactivity, carbon dioxide capture and soil processes.

His research includes enhanced rock weathering, basalt weathering kinetics, hydrogeochemical modelling, humic interactions and environmental geochemistry. Co-authored publications also address mine-tailings contamination and uranium mobility.

Wade Geochemical Consulting brings this scientific background to independently scoped technical reviews, modelling and advisory assignments.

Methods and research focus

Hydrogeochemistry

Water–rock interaction, aqueous chemistry, mineral reactivity and interpretation of environmental systems.

Reactive transport

Conceptual models and coupled chemical/transport interpretation, with PHREEQC, PHAST and VS2DRT among the tools used.

Enhanced weathering

Basalt properties, soil–mineral processes, experimental studies and potential carbon-removal quantification.

Scientific communication

Technical reports, co-authored publications, interpretation and the explanation of scientific findings.

Qualifications and former roles

Peter’s supplied professional profile lists these qualifications: PhD in Molecular Dynamics Modelling (1989), University of the Witwatersrand; MSc in Inorganic Chemical Modelling (1986), University of the Witwatersrand.

It also lists previous roles as Science Modelling Lead at UNDO Carbon Limited (2022–2026); Research Associate at University of Sheffield (2017–2022). These are career context, not endorsements of the independent practice.

Published professional context

UNDO’s published team profile names Peter as Science Modelling Lead. That public title is included here without assuming current employment or appointment dates.

Employer-published profile

Sheffield’s research reports describe his model-development work; publication records add specific analysis and review contributions.

The publications and experience described here belong to Peter's research career. They are not claims of past contracts delivered by Wade Geochemical Consulting, and no former organisation is presented as a current client or endorser.

New work is independently scoped. Client and former-employer confidential information, code, datasets and proprietary materials are not reused.
